- 2.2 METAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLIES
- NOTE ** Consult manufacturer to determine requirements for
- metal support assemblies. Manufacturer's automated
- documents are based on project requirements,
- determining material sizes, gages, and site
- conditions.

- A. Track and Stud Components: Custom curved studs and
- tracks complying with ASTM C 645, hot-dip galvanized in
- accordance with ASTM A 653, G60.
- 1. Size: 2-1/2 inches (64 mm) through 8 inches (203
- mm), as indicated on drawings.
- NOTE ** Manufacturer offers 12 gage and 14 gage components,
- depending on size and location. Edit subparagraph
- below to suit project requirements.
- 2. Gage: _____ gage.
- NOTE ** If gage is indicated on drawings, delete

- proceed with application until unsatisfactory conditions
- are corrected.

- 3.2 PREPARATION

- A. Prepare surfaces to receive metal support assemblies in
- accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

- 3.3 INSTALLATION

- A. Install metal support assemblies as computed by
- manufacturer's automated documents.
- 1. Curved Wall Applications: Install curved track and
- stud components.
- 2. Barrel Vault Applications: Install custom curved
- stud components.
- a. Span width of vault with studs spaced at 32
- inches (813 mm) to 48 inches (1219 mm) on center,
- as indicated on drawings.
- b. Attach hat channels to curved studs; span length
- of vault, hat channels spaced 12 inches (305 mm)
- to 24 inches (610 mm) on center, as indicated on
- drawings.
- 3. Simple Vault Applications: Install custom curved
- track and stud components.
- a. Span width of vault with studs spaced at 12
- inches (305 mm) to 24 inches (610 mm) on center,
- as indicated on drawings.
- 4. Dome Applications: Install stud ribs and curved
- track headers for arch length, as indicated on
- drawings.
- 5. Arch Applications: Install curved track components
- and straight studs assembled into curved load-bearing
- curved box beams and arches, as indicated on
- drawings.
